Sweet Pete’s Tours and Candy Classes<\/a>

Get the scoop on all things Sweet Pete’s! A candy expert leads each tour on a sweet trip through the company’s\u00a0history. Learn about candy, chocolate, our business, and the features of the one-hundred-year-old Sweet Pete’s candy mansion. Participants will view our live production facility and go behind the scenes to see our packaging room and caramel wrapping machine. After the whimsical tour experience,\u00a0enjoy a decadent chocolate bar made your way! Choose from over sixteen toppings, and our candy makers will create a bar exactly the way you want (bar included in price).<\/p>\n

Tour is approximately 30 minutes long.<\/p>\n

Jax Beach Classic Car Cruise<\/a>

Whether you want to show off your classic car or you want to admire your neighbor’s car, bring your family out and enjoy the Jax Beach Classic Car Cruise.\u00a0 Thanks to the support of the City of Jacksonville Beach, we are now able to use Sea Walk Pavilion and Latham Plaza (across from the Pavilion, between 1st and and 2nd St on the corner of 2nd Ave N) to showcase pre-registered cars.\u00a0 To apply for a spot in the plazas, email Jon at info@betterjaxbeach.com. \u00a0 Classic vehicles not showcased in the plazas are welcome to park in the city parking lot next to Latham Plaza (75 1St St North).\u00a0 Spaces in that lot are public parking and not reserved, so\u00a0 we ask that you start parking your classic cars in the NW corner near Jax Beach City Hall as space becomes available to keep everyone together.\u00a0 Unless you are parking at the Sea Walk Pavilion or Latham plaza, no registration is required.<\/p>\n

North Beach Art Walk<\/a>

The North Beaches Art Walk got its start in 2007 when Beaches art-industry professionals JoAnne Adams, Alice Gartland and Linda Stewart came together in hopes of recreating the popular art walk atmosphere of Downtown.<\/p>\n

\u200b<\/span>Through their nurturing and dedication, the event has grown considerably since its infancy. And on every third Thursday of the month, the streets of the Beaches Town Center erupt with creativity.<\/p>\n

\u200b<\/span>What was once a small pool of carefully selected artists has now become a bubbling ocean of art, a place where woodworkers comingle with jewelry designers and musicians play into the night. Welcoming to locals and out of towners alike, to say it\u2019s a communal event would be putting it lightly; it\u2019s an experience.<\/p>\n

\u200b<\/span>Now, ten years later, the ArtWalk is gearing up to celebrate with a special anniversary bash.<\/p>\n

Riverside Arts Market<\/a>

Produced by Riverside Avondale Preservation, Inc., the Riverside Arts Market is a weekly market hosted on Saturdays from 10 a.m. \u2013 3 p.m., rain or shine. RAM features a variety of small businesses from farmers to artists to makers and bakers. Under the Fuller Warren Bridge, you\u2019ll find a family-friendly event that attracts 4,000+ visitors every Saturday. The riverfront amphitheater seats 350 people and features hours of live music.<\/p>\n

4th Annual Spring Fling<\/a>

The 4th Annual Flamingo Lake RV Resort Spring Fling is coming Saturday, April 21st! We will, once again, have the POOL NOODLE RAFT RACE, where you can make a raft using nothing but pool noodles and duct tape to race in a sprint race at the Fun Zone for rewards and prizes. We will also have our Bounce Pillow Challenge and, instead of the Hot Dog eating contest, this year we are having our first ever CREAM PIE EATING CONTEST!!!! We plan to have other games and activities during the day as well as our normal afternoon kid’s activities. The Flamingo Lake Inflatables will be open from 10:30am until 6pm (weather permitting) and the Bounce Pillow will be open from 1pm to 5pm (weather permitting). We will also have our Outdoor Movie Night on Friday night and live music Saturday night at the concert stage provided by “BAND ON THE RUN”. Camper’s Inn RV will have some new RVs on hand for you to take a look at. The weekend is being sponsored by our friends at Camper’s Inn RV, The Jacksonville Sharks. & The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp!<\/p>\n

Classic and funky cars are driven up & down Main Street, just like they used to do in the old days, with patrons along the sidewalks enjoying the camaraderie and cars. There’s no cost, just show up with your classic car, old beater, or on foot to have a good time!<\/p>\n
